About the data
Purpose
Understand how the age pyramid shifts over time, and whether junior intake is keeping pace with an ageing core of players.
What it shows
One boxplot per year, over the population of licensed players. The spread of each box shows how wide the age range is; the median line shows where the centre of the population sits, and how it drifts from year to year.
How to read it
- Box: Interquartile range (Q1 to Q3) containing 50% of players
- Line in box: Median age
- Whiskers: Minimum and maximum ages
- Click on any boxplot to see a detailed bar chart showing the number of players at each age.
Data scope
Filters:
- Region: Filter by region (Squash Romandie, Swiss Squash)
- Years: Show or hide specific years on the chart
Exclusions:
- International players
- Players with only 1 course attended
- Players without a birth date
Note: Swiss Squash data before 2024 is not reliable and should be interpreted with caution.
